Isn't it wonderful what a media saavy celebrity can do to turn the tables on an attack comment?  Now if Obama could just hire some of Hilton's PR people to deal with the GOP ad hominum attack adds, he would be getting better milage than with his current lame or non-existant responses.

Do you think for a single second that Paris actually WROTE that herself?

The thing to note here is that Paris has pretty much stolen Obama's current Energy Plan, but I guess that just puts her domestic policy positions on par with McCain's foreign ones.

Paris gets a bad rap. I think she's pretty cool. She was definitely pretty cool to do this video.

Little Ms Hilton has risen to the occasion. Yes she is a looter class kid and yes she has a messy life but you gotta love her puckish boldness and sly zen way of messing with an old grouch who tried to trivialize and use her after her parents gave him nearly 10 grand.

America has no way to properly applaud a bold woman's sexual assertions. She is stuck in a double bind where men think it is bitchen' while women are ready to crucify her. Few are ready to celebrate her humanity.

She's a kid. I have a sense that there is some yearning in her to transcend the stigma of bimbo hood and find a purpose and I refuse to write her off as dumb or trivialize her beyond a reasonable doubt.  

I want to hear more of her platform.

In my mind, Obama needs to start associating McCain with Bush. That's one of the keys to this race and he's so far done an "ok" job on it. I mean it's mentioned here and there, and nudge and wink in an ad here and there...but they need a pure ad where its just like Bush/McCain,Bush/McCain,Bush/McCain

Barack tried to do McCain like he did Hillary. He was riding dirty with the race card.

It's so unbelievably dumb I can't stop thinking about it.  He liked Rev. Wright's "Bill did to us just like he did to Monica - he was riding dirty" so much that he's been putting variations of it up ever since; either making no sense, or implying all sorts of weird things like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton had oral sex.

Someone needs to lay out the real deal here.  The Paris ad spoof just keeps McCain's celebrity ad in the social discussion, and that's not good news for Obama.  Additionally, the way I heard the video (I'll have to listen again), she was implying that the big boys need to compromise on their positions, which means people will construe that as Obama has one hard and fast position, and McCain has another.  Hardly the type of message you want propagating.

So yeah, it's funny, and no, no one believes she wrote a line of it.  But this is not good news for Obama in the end, as people just doing their summer thing will wonder why it originated, and eventually be directed back to the source McCain ad.  That's politics, bitches.  

I love it that Paris is getting McCain back.  But the part that supposed to make her look smarter than she actually is, if it's her position and not the person that directed this faux ad for her, is still pretty damn ignorant.

The United states produces 2.2% of the world's oil, and consumes about 25% of the world's oil.  Estimated oil reserves don't come anywhere near the number to cover our consumption, and even if it did from the time we gave the word "go!" for drilling, offshore on on-shore, you'd be looking at 5+ years (and that is extremely optimistic) before you saw a barrel of oil.  Even longer before that oil is refined to gas and put on the market.

So this idea that drilling here drilling now will somehow tide us over is a complete falsehood.  And though I don't take Paris Hilton seriously, it appears that 70% of Americans are devastatingly ignorant about what it takes to meet our energy consumption.

Is this really who I want to be the next "Commander Guy".  Seriously, the McSame camp went out of their way to get their asses handed to them in public by Paris.  This is just too funny.  The longer this campaign goes on the more the old white hair guy is going to regret it.  

Come November McSame's only goal will be to do better than McGovern or Dukakis.  He's about to become a footnote, a party joke, the Bill Buckner of politics, and you know he really, really, is going to hate that.

At lunchtime today. So he goes through through the whole spiel about Paris Hilton having no talent, and he calls her a dunce, etc. And the he plays the ad over the air.

This is why I hate FOX. Yeah, we know she's a lightweight. I don't even think she's that attractive. * But damnit, if you are going to insult her for having no brains, then you better damn well represent what she says accurately.
